TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF MOTION MEDIA PROFESSIONALS NEWSLETTER 11/23/2013
As Thanksgiving approaches, TAMMP would like to wish you and your family a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
The board has been busy working on improving the TAMMP website and growing the membership.
At present, we have regained 267 members. However, not all paid in full members are showing up on the site because the contact information page was not filled out when you purchased your membership or were assigned a user name and password because you were owed time from the previous website.
Enter your user name, which is your name or your company name. Enter your password and log in. Go to: My Account. Enter ALL your contact information in order to show up on the site. If cannot remember your user name and password, hit the “Forgot Username” memo and set a new one. The office does not keep your user names or passwords. Only you can establish this. It prevents any changes to your listing from being edited with out your authorization.
The organization is grateful for your membership, but the office has NO WAY of knowing your phone number, email address, or resume. The site was built from scratch, so you will need to enter all your information.
Thanksgiving weekend is coming and most folks have a bit of time off. While the turkey is in the oven, please take a minute to help us promote you. If you are not listed, please know that crew is really needed. Crew Members are really needed.
$75.00 a year is ½ the original cost of membership.
The “Tool Box” page is coming. It will be a “members only” section. If you are a vendor and wish to list your operating manuals or catalogue in this section, please send a PDF version to: email@example.com
Other forms such as the 151.318 tax exempt form for film production, w-9’s and talent/ property releases will also be available on this page of the site. If you have a suggestion for this page, please send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Doug Freeman, and Bill Elliott are currently working on getting a mobile app in place. The organization is striving to get an app that will handle any and all mobile devices from an I-Phone to a Droid.
MEMBERSHIPS AND RENEWALS:
The TAMMP site will be one year old on January 31, 2014. The organization will be 40 years old in April 2014! If you wish to renew your membership by check, please send payment in PRIOR TO JANUARY 31. If you joined in February, please send payments in prior to February 28, 2014. There will be more GENERAL NOTICES concerning membership expiration. Your membership is good for one year from the date you sign on. If not renewed, you WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE SITE. In the past, many who did not renew on time, still remained on the site. That will not happen with this site. It is unfair to those who pay and keep their memberships current. If removed, you will have to go in and RE-DO your entire listing. Please pay attention to the notices you will be receiving. If you have a question as to your expiration date, email the office at: email@example.com. A date will be emailed back to you. If you are sending a check, mail it to: 9629 Carnegie Dr. Dallas, TX 75228. Please note the name change: TAMMP or Texas Association of Motion Media Professionals. All Credit Card purchases go through Pay Pal.
PLEASE NOTE: The office is run on a VOLUNTEER BASIS. That means no one gets paid to keep you listed, promote the organization or do the bookwork. There is a limit to what the staff is able to do, because they too must make a living.
The board has voted to improve the website instead of spending funds on a Holiday Party. It is more important to rebuild and keep promoting our members than to have a party at this time.
If you have long term clients and don’t feel a need to be a member, you may want to asses where those clients came from and how they found you for the first job! It was probably through the printed directory or the on line website. If you are working a long term gig, it is always better to say,” Sorry, I am booked.” Then, when the gig is over, your name is still out there and you can still be getting called. Most clients do not keep up with dates of long term projects like the DALLAS TV SERIES, therefore, they do not know when you are available. So, do your self a favor, and ALWAYS look available for HIRE! It does not matter what your union affiliation is.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM TAMMP!
